We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Visitor Services Manager to lead operations at Potteric Carr Nature Discovery Centre in Doncaster.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional with expertise in visitor services, retail, or hospitality management. You will take the lead in delivering a memorable and inspiring visitor experience at Potteric Carr Nature Discovery Centre, located within our stunning nature reserve. As a key driver of income generation, you will oversee retail, café, and commercial activities, aiming to achieve ambitious profit-for-purpose goals that support Yorkshire’s wildlife and wild spaces. Key Responsibilities
• Transform Potteric Carr Nature Discovery Centre into a leading, welcoming visitor destination, ensuring exceptional standards of customer care.
• Embed robust health and safety practices and operational policies to maintain smooth day-to-day operations.
• Lead and develop a skilled team to manage and grow our commercial offerings, including admissions, retail, catering, and private hire packages.
• Enhance visitor engagement to boost income, increase advocacy, and foster greater support for Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a proactive and commercially minded individual with the following:
• Proven experience in visitor services, museums, or hospitality, with a track record of success in team management.
• Strong financial acumen and the ability to develop profitable and competitive merchandise ranges, menu options, and hire packages.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders.
• A passion for delivering exceptional visitor experiences while supporting nature conservation objectives.
