The Wildlife Trusts are calling for 30% of our land to be managed for nature by 2030 to give nature space to recover and help tackle the climate crisis. Our own connection to nature is central to this, natural spaces close to where we live and work are vital to our wellbeing.
We worked with Orbit Group in 2021, one of the UK’s largest social housing providers to test how the 30 by 30 target can be practically adopted across its estate to provide space for nature and people. In doing so we want to inspire and enable housing providers across the UK to do the same.
We also created a bespoke ‘Wildlife Outside Your Window’ booklet designed to connect Orbit’s residents with nature, containing tips and advice on what to do and when to give nature a helping hand.
